For the first time in our almost 7 years of existence, the cool people at Nights with Alice Cooper have made a mistake. We thought that the influence for the Beatles song "Helter Skelter," was a rollercoaster ride when in truth it was a cylindrical tower with a spiral-slide from the top to the bottom.
Here's the email and picture from listener Graham:
Hi
Great show, I listen most days on the way to work.
On your show 19/01/10 you said a helter skelter is what the British call a roller coaster. This is wrong as a helter skelter is a cylindrical tower, wider at the base than top, with a spiral slide around the out side, and you climb to the top and slide down on mats.
